Music and beautiful landscapes: especially the romantic composers loved this combination which inspired them to write their famous orchestral works.
One of the most beautiful examples for this is “The Moldau”: Czech master Bedrich Smetana describes in  the form of a symphonic poem the way the river takes from its two sources to the capital Prague. The beauty of the far North is portrayed in the music of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. “Morning” from “Peer Gynt” is actually one of the most popular classical works in the world.
The DVD in hand combines wonderful music and striking pictures: fascinating landscapes from Bohemia accompany the excellent interpretation of Smetana’s “Moldau”. Impressions from Norway, music and a forcible ballet choreography complement each other in Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” suite.
In addition, the programme includes excerpts from the most famous Czech opera “The Bartered Bride” by Bedrich Smetana. Moreover, the DVD offers informative introductions to this work as well as to “Peer Gynt”.
